Vieux-Port de Montreal

Looking towards the tent area where Cirque Eloize takes place.

Rue de la Commune
Cafe on Rue Saint-Paul

Rue Saint-Paul
Not sure what this was about, but it certainly looks interesting--someone was inside this costume--there's something new going on every day on Boulevard Saint Laurent

Traffic touchdown!
Interesting men's apron for sale...

The new boat we purchased while in Montreal!!

Holly says:

It turns out that Murphy's Law ruled again for the fireworks--we thought we'd have a front row seat, while it turned out that they were on either side of us, but we couldn't see a thing. We could only hear them... :-(

Today we got out early and headed for two Imax 3D movies at the science center. One was about the astronauts going into space to make repairs to the Hubble telescope; the other was about the search for the perfect wave for surfing in Tahiti. The 3D was really cool; I thought the fish were going to run into my face and bite me!! After lunch, we headed for the Cirque Eloize (similar to the Cirque du Soleil). There are no animals involved--just acrobatics, trampolines, bikes, skates, contortionists, dancing, etc., all to the beat of hip-hop music. It was quite a show. Unfortunately, the music was so loud that John couldn't stay for the whole performance and suffered through the rest of the day from the aftereffects.

Had a late dinner at an Italian restaurant. The streets are full of people day and night, and the narrow streets and sidewalk bistros give the town a real European feel--not to mention the French being spoken everywhere.

PS--if you believe we bought that 73-foot boat, I have a bridge for sale... :-)
